For me, life is a huge movie set!
Movie sets have something magical about them. There is a dynamic surrounding them… everyone is there to fulfill the vision of one director and to tell one story. For me, the magical moment happens a few seconds before we start shooting (nothing can start before the director says so). It’s the moment the director shouts: Stand-by, Silence, Lights, Camera… ACTION!!! On ‘Action’, cameras are rolling, actors are acting, and the movie is being shot (with complete silence on set – all we can hear are voices of the actors). I know nothing more stunningly exciting than that!
As an actress and filmmaker, I have learned very early that making a film involves a budget, a team (sometimes a huge one) and many key components, among which: a compelling story you want to tell, a screenwriter to write the script, a director to make the movie, a producer to make it all happen, a distributor to release it afterward, actors to play all parts, an editor to put it all together… and ideally a ‘star’ to make it successful! Once all is shot, edited and released, there is no going back. It’s over, done! Everyone needs to live with the result, whether good or bad.
But you’re in luck today, because for you, it’s the opposite!!!
As the big boss of the story of your life, you can make it what you want it to be – and no one can tell you they don’t like YOUR story. You call ALL the shots! And the good news is: you can keep changing the story as many times you want along the way, and replace all characters in the film (since you are the star, screenwriter, author, producer, director, editor and distributor). Consequently, if you don’t like the final result, you can get back on set, or in the editing room, and re-edit / shoot another version of your story.
We are all actors in our own movie of life.
You may not be able to go back in the past and change the beginning of your old story. But today, you have all at your disposal to start a whole new chapter, and change the ending of your story. And that, my friend, is your new beginning starting today.
Tony Robbins was right when he said: “When someone says it takes 10 years to make a change, what you really find out is: Change happens in a moment. It probably took you 10 years to get to the moment where you say: Never again. I quit. Let’s begin. I love you. I do. It’s over. Our entire life changes in a moment.”
Today, I’m here to say it doesn’t have to take 10 years, or not even 1 year to make that shift in your life or career. You can start today! Sometimes, all we need is a shift in the negative story we tell ourselves; it might be our lack of confidence, or that bold move we never dared to make… Get educated about what you want to do by taking an online class for instance, or by reading the best books out here that can propel your success.
Take a decision and change your story, change your life!
I hope those quotes can inspire you to understand there’s nothing wrong with you and that the world is your movie set. You are the boss with ultimate power. You can fire and replace anyone in your story and start over as many times as you need. And only you can say: …Light, Camera, ACTION!!!
